The Ashton Warner Academy
delivers qualifications to enable graduates to secure
employment as a nanny or as an educator in an early
childhood centre or to access higher level courses in the
field of early childhood education. The Academy serves its
community by delivering the highest quality education and
training in a caring and supportive environment. It is committed to ongoing and meaningful
consultation with all its stakeholders to implement
continual quality improvement and identify and serve
changing needs.

The Academy aims to develop self-reliant and independent professional
nannies and caregivers whose personal philosophy is based on
principles of respect and caring for the individual and the
personal uniqueness of every child.
The
Academy is committed to the principle of equal partnership
with Tangata Whenua and to implementing this partnership in
all practice incorporating the principals of partnership,
participation and protection.
To provide training in both practical skills and theory with
a particular emphasis on meeting the needs of employers and
preparing for further education.
To place particular emphasis on evaluation; regularly
obtaining feedback from all stakeholders and using the
results to continually improve our courses. (Quality

To provide training in a caring and supportive
environment.
The Academy's courses are part-funded by the New Zealand
Government through the Tertiary Education Commission (the
TEC). This funding is based on an approved investment plan.
