Student Loans and Allowances

Students at the Nanny Academy receive student loans and allowances through Studylink.  The Studylink website provides tools, calculators and information to help students who are thinking about study to plan their finances and only borrow what they need.  Use Studylink’s What You Can Get eligibility test by clicking on the headings below to find out what you may be eligible for, such as:

Teaching Methods and assessment

We use an exciting range of teaching methods which include  practical demonstrations, group discussions, role-plays, workshops, lectures, tutorials, child observations, personal research, field trips, and audio-visual presentations. 

We provide you with lots of support and help to complete  thirteen weeks on work placement giving you experience of working with three different families, and at Early Childhood Centres, Schools and School Holiday Programmes. 

There is no final exam for Level 3 or Level 5.  All assessments are internal and include work on unit standards, projects, case studies etc. Level five students have extra assignments and case studies to complete.
