Mosby: June 2010
I
studied in 2000, and loved it. I ended up working for a
family with two children in Greenlane Auckland. I
worked there for 3 years until the youngest went to school.
As he started school i was preparing for my own family, my
first child was due shortly after he started school. I
then went back and nannied after school with my own child.
It was great. We are still in touch with the family and my
sister and cousin now look after the children occasionally
and do the housework, a family friend forever. We are now
living in Palmerston North, and I have two beautiful
children of my own. I have almost finished training for
my ECE diploma throughTe Tari O Puna Ora O Aotearoa/ New
Zealand Childcare Association. Ashton Warner most
definitely inspired and set the ground roots for a fabulous
career in early childhood; they have been memories that have
lasted for ever. Thanks Ashton Warner Nanny staff. (The team
has grown somewhat). |

Nikki Dixon: May 2010
I am currently working for a lovely family
with a 2 year old boy and 3 week old boy with frequent
travel to France! Its only a three month role as they are
moving to France for 6 weeks then in September they are
moving to Moscow. I am not ready to leave London yet so am
not going to go with them but they really need a nanny with
them in Moscow so I said I would email you and see if you
know of anyone suitable! Its for 3 months (September-
December) either live out or live in. If a live in the nanny
will have her own floor in their house. Please let me know
if anyone is interested :)
My next job, which starts when my current family leave to
France is with 20 month old twin girls with frequent travel
to Italy. It is another 3 month contract which I am loving
because im not tied down and gain lots of experience.
Please say Hi to everyone for me,

Gillian Davis (now Sims): May 2010
I studied as Gillian Davies in the year
2000. After completing your course I worked as a nanny for 4
years, most recently for families in the Wellington film
industry which has opened many doors (I have worked for
Richard Taylor of Weta, and was involved in casting for both
Avatar and King Kong, lot's of fun!). I then completed a
degree in midwifery and have been working as an LMC for two
years. Sue Collet will be happy to know that I have remembered
and frequently use her advice on routines and sibling
adjustment for many new mothers )
I recently moved to Melbourne for a short break from my
on-call lifestyle in Wellington. I will be nannying while my
husband and I enjoy a working holiday.
Kylie Dale: March 09
Wow it's hard to believe it has been so
long since I did this course, I still think it about it
all the time, how much fun it was - and all that I got out
of it. I'm still Nannying now, and am so lucky to have a
really neat job. After the course I worked in Waipu, and
saved up enough to get me to London, where I worked and
travelled for a few months, before getting the job where I
am now. I am working for a family, where the father is
involved in the Volvo Ocean Yacht Race, which is a race
around the world. It is mostly a mother-help position, and
I take care of an 8 year old boy and 6 year old girl. It
is really neat, as we get to travel to all the ports where
the boat stops over, so we've been to Spain, South Africa,
India, Singapore, China, and next we go to Brazil,
Ireland, Sweden and Russia. There are plenty of other
families involved in this race, so I have made many
friends, a few who are also nannies. There has been a
little travelling school that has been set up in some
countries, and in others me and the mother home school the
children.
So its sad to think this amazing job will
come to an end in a few months! But I'm quite excited too,
for what is ahead. The family have a home in Florida,
where we spend a bit of time between some of the ports,
and they are in a city where yachting is a major industry.
I completed a safety course while I've been here, which
will allow me to work on board mega yachts. This is still
quite a big industry throughout parts of Europe too, and
I'm discovering there are some great opportunities
available, where I can incorporate my Nanny qualifications
also.

Jade Amos: May 09
Wow its seems like forever since i have
finished the course, but at the same time it seems like
yesterday I was there having loads of fun ! :
I miss you guys!
I still keep in touch with a few girls from my intake,
which is good, still talk to mouse all the time, and Lesely-May,
Alison, Michalea, Steph and Kylie.
Since leaving course I have been working as a nanny, have
a fab job, working with 4 children ages 13, 11, 7 and 4!
the youngest has mild autism so it has been great fun and
challenging at times, but an amazing experience. I have
saved up and travelled since working with them, been to
Australia and Thailand, and leaving to do Camp America in
June, very exciting!!!! cant wait!
once I have returned from America mid September i am
coming to work for the same family until school goes back
in Feb 2010 and then heading overseas on another
adventure!

Lesley Paora: 2010
I am about two hours from the town of
Clermont in Central QLD and work for a family of 4 They
have two children 14 & 10 and I teach them here at Mt
Gregory Station. They have cattle on the station but they
only live here on the station as it is central to the work
they do which is operating a helicopter mustering
business, so I'll get to ride in a chopper!!!
They are a really lovely, friendly and active in the rural
community. They attend lots of Campdrafts (which is like a
rodeo event) and will be going on a big cattle drove in
June and are more than happy for me to come also- they
need my van!
My accommodation is a bit different , it's a caravan- not
just your average old van though! It's great!
It is complete with a shower, basin, toilet, kitchen (minus an
oven), double bed, 3 single bunks, dining area, fridge, tv,
and heaps of storage space- photos coming soon. I love it
so much and to be honest, I think houses are over-rated!
Anyhow people I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2010.
I hope to catch up with all if not some of you this year
in between working out here in 'the bush'.

Natalie Taylor: (Sept 08)
Would you believe I'm now in the south of
France nannying? (and the weather is great) I moved over
to the u.k at the beginning of April to a job in Swansea,
Wales, with three children, 2 boys 5 & 3 and an 18
month old girl.
Eight weeks later I travelled with them to
Spain and Italy for six weeks, which was great, but also
very hard, I spent most of my time at the houses with the
youngest child with few resources for activties, so a
little hint to other students, a job with all the
traveling can be glamourous but harder. Two days
after we got back one of my bosses got a job transfer and
three weeks after that we moved to France.
Michelle Coutts So
much has happened since we all graduated in 2004 I think it
was???I have worked in several childcare centres in NZ and
had a 4 month stint looking after a 14mnth girl while
travelling with the family through outback
Queensland
– what an adventure! I moved to
Australia
in October 2006 and have had a few office jobs while
working/travelling from
Brisbane
to
Perth
. Once I was settled in
Perth
I started looking after an 8mnth girl – little sweetheart,
until recently getting back into Reception/Admin work.My
partner and I will be having our very own little bundle of
joy in February 09! Very excited J. Would
be great to hear from you and my fellow graduates.

you and the Academy are going? All is well with me, still
nannying and loving it!! I have 2 15mth olds that l look
after (separately) who have given me great experience since
having them from 2 months of age. So much that all the hard
work will come into practice as l am 8 months pregnant
and looking forward to becoming a mum myself.
Shannon Geard June 08. I was in the
2006 start of year course. I just thought I would say hi and
see how things are going and thank you all again for the
great training and experience I gained. I am living in the
gold coast in Queensland
Name: Claire de Goey July 06 I have moved to the gold coast Australia . I am working in an office at the moment, trying to do babysitting part time. I was living in Wellington at the start of the year being a nanny/mother help (live in) which I enjoyed. in teaching (early childhood education) in February this
year, and am now studying towards a Bachelor

kinda scary.

Just thought that I'd write a quick e-mail to say hi and tell you all what I'm up too. I hope that you are all good and that you aren't to cold with the winter starting!!
I am now in North Vancouver, I have been here for two months now and I'm loving it. I'm looking after four children aged 10, 8, 6 and 4. Three of them are boys, so I'm running around alot!! All the kids are great though, and the whole family has welcomed me and have made me feel at home already.
We are coming into summer here, so I'll be busy getting nice and brown while you are all feezing in a good old NZ winter.
If any of the other students are considering working in Canada I would tell them to get right on to it and get over here. The people are great and it's such a beautiful country! Mind you I have only seen North Vancouver so far, but if that's anything to go by then I'm pretty positive that the rest of the country is as beautiful. I am off to Whistler in the beginning of July, so I'm really looking forward to that.
Well thankyou for everything that you all taught me, I'm positive that I'll be using a bit of everything while I'm here, well except for the stuff on babies. Well I hope they don't surprise me with another kid!!!
Take Care Rachelle
