Jess
was from a large family & had looked after
cousins and neighbours for years. She was keen to
get a formal qualification; & had always liked
children so it seemed a good idea to study an area
she had a real passion for. When she graduated
Tinies nanny agency in Auckland were particularly
impressed and put her forward for a job in
Greece. Within 2 months she was employed as a nanny
in Athens! "The Ashton Warner course
was thorough, and gave us experience in many
situations. The tutors were lovely, respectful,
helpful and easy to approach, as well as being very
experienced and knowledgeable.”
When Helena
left school before the end of her sixth form year
she had no idea what the future would hold and was
working in a pizza outlet. . She saw the
Ashton Warner ad and knew she enjoyed working with
children because of her experience at her local
Maori culture group so she applied. After finishing
the level 3 course Helena worked as a live-in nanny while she finished the
Level 5 NZ Certificate in Nanny Education at the
academy. With that
qualification she gained entry to Waikato University
and after graduating she is now working there as a
lecturer.
David
sometimes found being the only male out of 24 students a challenge but he was quickly accepted.
After graduating he got a great job working for a family in the entertainment industry.
