Student Achievement

Students at the Academy have a high success rate.   In the Academy's last audit report NZQA stated "the Ashton Warner Nanny Academy is providing tuition in a specialist field and achieving good outcomes for learners through the employment opportunities available when they finish their training."

The Academy is ranked in the top group of quality providers and has achieved an optimal three year cycle of audit from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.  A copy of our latest audit report is available on the NZQA website click here. 

Teaching Methods and assessment

A wide variety of teaching methods are used. These include practical demonstrations, group discussions, role-plays, workshops, lectures, tutorials, child observations, personal research, field trips, and audio-visual presentations. In addition thirteen weeks are spent on supervised work placement giving you experience of working with families, and at Early Childhood Centres, Schools and School Holiday Programmes. Assessment is based on unit standards and practical assessments for level 3 students. Level five students also have extra assignments and case studies to complete. There is no final exam.
